How to Tell Your Boosters You Came Up Short

Things don't always work out. We all know this, right? Yet most of us are afraid to tell people when they don't, and what we're going about it. This is especially vexing when you're raising money for something and you don't quite raise enough to cover the cost of the trip, or hire the coach, or buy the new equipment. So then what do you do? You step up, explain what happened, and offer your boosters some options. Here's what one wrestler did:

To Everyone,

Unfortunately I was unable to raise enough funds to safely make it to Super32, we tried but other conditions came into play that made it impossible for us to get there. I know I would have done well but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I would like to use the donations that I raised to continue wrestling this season and getting some of the things I will need to do that such as my 2016 USAW-NJ Athlete Membership and other things. I will post everything here that I purchase, also if anyone who donated would like a refund please let me know and we will do that as soon as possible. Thank you again for all your support it means everything to me, I will continue to work my hardest to be the best I can be on and off the mat.

I greatly appreciate the candor, integrity, and continued commitment of this athlete. If he raises money on RallyMe again, I will not hesitate to support him.
